Declutter: how it works
How it works
From a free call to a written plan, then the work, one space at a time.
Six steps. Steps 2 and 3 are the Room Plan, an optional first step by video. Scroll, and each one appears beside you as you reach it.
The six steps
The plan, the tags and the note are examples, not a client's.
-
Free discovery call
A first conversation, nothing to buy
- What is the space?
- What would you like from it?
- Is Laura the right help?
Example: fictional. Step 1
The free call
A first conversation to check it is the right fit: the space, what you would like from it, and which way in suits. It is free, and there is nothing to buy.
-
Illustration: not Laura's work or a client's home. Step 2
A Room Plan by video, if you would like one
If you would rather start with a plan, you walk Laura round one room on a 45-minute video call, opening the doors and drawers that matter.
-
Room Plan: the cupboard under the stairs
Example: fictional
Keep
Everyday coats
Shoes in use
Donate
Two coats
Spare bags
Sell
Camping chair
Recycle
Old cables
The order: coats, shoes, then the shelf3 steps
Storage: six hooks, two baskets40 by 30 cm
Example: fictional. Step 3
The Room Plan, in writing
After the call comes the Room Plan for that room: what to keep, donate, sell or recycle, the order to do it in, and a storage list with measurements. It is written for you to decide from. Whichever way in you choose, the booking itself has its own written plan: what Laura would do, and its price.
-
Laura's time, in hours
One square for each hour
Video Coaching: two sessions over three weeks
Half Day, One Space: 4 hours
One Room Day: up to 6 hours
Each square is one hour of Laura's time. Step 4
The work, by video or in your home
Either you work through the plan with Laura on two 1-hour video sessions, or she comes to you: 4 hours on one space, or up to 6 hours on one room.
-
Example: fictional. Step 5
Donations, bagged and labelled
Donations are bagged and labelled for a charity collection. On a Half Day they are listed too, so you know what went.
-
Keep it this way
One page, for the cupboard door
- Coats: one hook each
- Shoes: back in the basket
- Cables: the labelled box
- Once a season: one shelf, ten minutes
Example: fictional. Step 6
Keep it this way
A Half Day ends with a one-page note on how to keep the space this way, so what you decided together is written down.
Plainly
- You have 14 days to change your mind after booking. See How booking works.
- Travel and donations are explained beside the prices once Laura sets them.
- Laura does no probate work.
